The year 10’s were using trigonometry with Mrs Johns in class today to calculate the height of their ceiling, so that they could work out the surface area of the walls that are going to be painted shortly. The class used a ‘high-tech angle measuring device’ as well as an app on the class Ipads to measure the angle for comparison.
Our year 9/10 German class have been busily filming a short film for the German Schools Film Competition. I had many laughs whilst watching Frau Mac and her students rehearsing today. Well done all!
Students have been busily constructing ‘rain makers’ and ‘bulls’ from lime-stone this week. Everyone seemed to be having a great time when I visited this week!
Today’s Middle Years assembly. We run a 3 week assembly rotation of home-room, sub-school and whole-school assemblies at East Loddon P-12 College.
Our students who travelled to Turkey with Mr Wilkinson and Miss Byrne earlier this year, presented beautifully at the Bendigo South Rotary Dinner at the Foundry Hotel last night. Great effort students!
Well done to our fantastic students who participated in the AGTV poetry competition this week. You all did a great job!
Well done to our German department for hosting this years event also!
Our Year 9 and 10 students had a presentation from Illbijerri’s Marguk Program and North West of Nowhere reference group this week. The performance was entertaining, engaging and highlighted some of the issues people in rural areas face and ways to deal with such circumstances.
Super effort from the students pictured above. They all presented speeches at East Loddon Lions Den tonight and did the college proud. Outstanding effort!!!
Year 6 and Mrs T are very excited by the latest mural offering being painted on the fence down at the pizza ovens at the back of the college. The year 6 class have been working on this design with Mrs T for some time now and the actual painting has now been started. Friedensreich Hundertwasser, who was an Austrian artist and architect is the inspiration for this artwork. The mural being painted is part of a state wide competition for students to celebrate the artists work.
I can’t wait to see the finished product! Well done, Mrs T and year 6!
