We were very excited today to welcome kinder students from Dingee, Boort, Pyramid Hill, Wedderburn and Inglewood into the college. The Loddon Shire kinder students participated in an African drumming session with Fred, who originates from Ghana. Fred taught students about the origins of the drums themselves and progressed to the stage of getting approx. 80 kinder students drumming together. All reports indicated that the session was fantastic.

A big thankyou is extended to Middle Years Captains Jessica and Aaron for officially welcoming all participants to the college.

Well done Alia and Lydia!

I had a great time on Friday, taking Mr Clyne’s year 10 sport class for a session of volleyball and indoor cricket. All students participated with a great level of enthusiasm and the encouragement provided to classmates was outstanding. Year 10 have 2 physical education sessions per week, as well as 1 sport session per week with the year 9 students.

The photo on the left is a display of East Loddon artworks at the Bendigo Show, in which the school took out first prize in the consolidated schools section. The photo on the right is another picture of the fabulous HunterWasser mural that year 6 students have painted with Mrs Townsend. This will be entered into a statewide competition which recognises the work of the Austrian artist and architect.

Well done on these two great initiatives/results art department!

Mr Wilkinson and I were deep in conversation when the year 12 girls sprung from nowhere and attacked him with silly string. As you can see, Chelsea was the ring-leader and poor old Mr Wilkinson had little he could do to halt the attack. Look out over the course of the next couple of weeks Chelsea, Mr Wilkinson may strike back when you least expect it!

Many of our students were ‘entertained’ by the year 12 boys, who decided to set up a slip-n-slide on the central lawn yesterday. After a few turns and a bit of friendly banter, the year 12’s had a morning tea and headed into Bendigo for trampolining and pizza.

Our year 12 girls pranked Miss Byrne yesterday when they lured her away from her office in order to fill the entire room with balloons. Miss Byrne had to pop all of the balloons until she found the one that contained a gift for her. Little did the girls know that Miss Byrne is not a huge fan of popping balloons. Well played girls!
