Year 9 Humanities

Mr Rudkins had some of our year 9 students write essays on car manufacturing in Australia recently and the standard of work that was handed in was outstanding. This task gave students the chance to extend themselves and really showcase what they can do.

Have a look at some snippets of the students writing below –

‘Government support towards car manufacturing companies also has a major impact on the way they run. A chart sourced from the Australian Industry group showed that in 2009 Australia’s assistance to the automotive manufacturing industry was well below other countries including Sweden, France and the US.’

‘The long and proud history of Australian car manufacturing is coming to an end. Many economists had predicted this eventual outcome, as Australia’s viability for manufacturing cars is questionable.’

‘There is always the silver lining that I was talking about before. Agriculture has always been a major part of Australia’s economy, from the very first settlers all the way to the current age. It provides 325,300 jobs, $155 billion dollars a year and stands for 12% of Australis’s GDP.’

‘It is a big gamble, but the government has stopped supporting Ford to spend taxpayer money on something else. What will happen from here on is something time can only tell.’
